NEWS: UK PRIME MINISTER VOWS TO CHANGE LAW ON ORGAN DONATION

Earlier today, it was reported the UK Prime Minister has vowed to change the organ donation process in England, to include an opt-out system following a speech to delegates at the Tory party conference in Manchester.

ACLT has been campaigning for such a change to take place for a number of  years, so we are thrilled to hear about such a change in law!

Last year 500 people died because a suitable organ was not available. Today, there are 6,500 on the transplant list.

Our co-founder and CEO, Orin Lewis has said about the change in law:

What are your thoughts on the news re the opt-out system?  If you’re currently not on the register, do you plan to opt out?  Share your thoughts on Twitter or Facebook using the hashtag #optout and remember to tag @acltcharity
