“Whether it’s for your loved ones, your neighbour, or even somebody you’ve never met. Small acts of kindness make a difference.” – Sir Trevor McDonald OBE
For Black History Month NHS Blood and Transplant asked our Co-founders to visit the Word On The Curb studios to participate in a video celebrating every single person that’s donated blood or organs.
Sir Trevor McDonald OBE was joined by Beverley De-Gale OBE and Orin Lewis OBE and other community champions Doreen Black, Dela Idowu and the Retired Caribbean Nurses Association – Bedford to thank them for their relentless work over the years.
NHS BT says “For many Black patients, a successful blood transfusion will most likely come from a donor of the same ethnic background.”
Orin has incredibly given blood 49 times and has donated enough blood to have saved potentially 294 lives.
