ACLT is a charity committed to giving hope to patients living with blood cancer and other illnesses where a matched donor (stem cell, blood or organ) is required to save a life. Our work is driven by a belief that no one should die waiting for a donor to become available.

The Role

We’re looking for an enthusiastic Administration & Finance Officer to undertake a range of secretarial and financial duties to join our 30+ award winning blood cancer charity.

The candidate will oversee the office and giving support to ensure that a comprehensive service is provided. The candidate will also be required to support our CEO on the financial duties of our charity by administering accounting operations to meet legal requirements. The successful individual will be responsible for the day-to-day management of our financial transactions and procedures, covering tasks which include:

*Providing administrative support to all office operations
*Managing the charity database
*Managing our volunteer programme and all communications
*Taking charge of the day to day financial duties

Office Management

Provide an administrative support service to the Chief Executive and Director of Operations, including typing/word processing a wide range of documents. They will also take phone messages, make diary appointments and arrangements for visitors.

Maintain and update the ACLT’s computerised financial information system and contact database and monitor the charity budget and accounts.

Manage reception – act as first point of call for all external communications including general email, post and telephone enquiries

*Communicate with suppliers and order stationery; ensure availability of day to day office items
*Maintain both electronic and paper filing systems
*Manage Petty Cash
*Coordinate the production of quarterly e-newsletters
*Helping to maintain website by updating content as requested

Finance/CRM Database Management

*Creating and maintaining constituent records
*Running reports, queries and creating mass emails
*Assist Chief Executive with all matters relating to finance
*Volunteer Management

To help manage volunteers, being one of the main points of contact, providing support as and when needed

Additional Responsibilities:

Occasional weekend and evening work
Undertake other work as required, including special projects i.e. Dinner & Dance Ball’s, 5K Fun Run/Walk

Essential Requirements:

Administration experience
Finance Experience
Experience with databases (any)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work under own initiative to prioritise and manage varied tasks
Excellent organisation skills and administration ability including computer literacy (word, excel, PowerPoint etc.)
Ability to handle time-sensitive tasks
Interest in issues relating to health and/or cancer, blood or organ issues
Flexibility to work outside core hours occasionally to support other activities as required.
Ability to break down and analyse information where required

Desirable Requirements:

Experience of working in the voluntary sector
Experience of working in an organisation focusing on health/or cancer, blood or organ issues
Experience of events management
Experience of using eTapestry (Blackbaud) fundraising and donor management software
Previous experience of working with confidential information
