ACLT Trustee, Dean named 1st on Power List
Dean Forbes, CEO, Forterro, Partner Corten Capital, and Chair of Forbes Family Group has had a stellar year following his landmark €1bn transaction between Forterro and Partners Group in 2022, which is still the largest European deal led by a CEO of African Caribbean heritage. Forterro is now the UK’s sixth largest privately held software company.
As CEO, Dean has continued to scale Forterro by increasing profits by 30 per cent through top and bottom-line growth, in addition to accelerating growth through active mergers and acquisitions.
Whilst running Forterro, Dean has also increased his work as the sole African Caribbean partner at Corten Capital – the €1.2bn+ private equity fund – where he is responsible for growth and value creation.
Also in 2023, Dean joined the board of Cornerstone as a senior advisor. Cornerstone is the UK’s largest venture capital firm focused on investing in and supporting black-owned growth businesses.
Forbes Family Group (FFG) has successfully collaborated with ACLT Charity, FFG is also a dedicated partner of the African Caribbean Leukaemia Trust (ACLT), a UK-based organization focused on increasing the number of ethnic minorities registered as blood, organ, and stem cell donors. This partnership aligns with FFG’s focus on healthcare equality, especially in addressing the urgent needs of communities affected by blood cancers and disorders such as leukaemia, sickle cell disease. Through various fundraising events, such as charity runs and blood drives, FFG helps ACLT raise awareness and provide life-saving support to patients in need.
On September 14th, 2024, the Forbes Family Group hosted their first-ever star-studded charity gala in support of the African Caribbean Leukaemia Trust. The event was a tremendous success, raising over £400,000 for the charity. This significant amount will directly fund ACLT’s efforts to increase the number of stem cell, blood, and organ donors, particularly among ethnic minority groups, and to support patients suffering from life-threatening blood disorders like sickle cell disease. The gala attracted prominent guests from the world of business, entertainment, and philanthropy, highlighting FFG’s commitment to making a substantial impact on public health initiatives.
