WHAT ACLT DO...
In 1993, Daniel De-Gale was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. He became the 1st black individual in the UK to receive a stem cell transplant from an unrelated donor. Unfortunately, due to complications with his health, Daniel passed in 2008. Daniel’s story could have been different if his match had been found sooner.
As a leading Blood cancer/disorder charity, the African Caribbean Leukaemia Trust is dedicated to raising awareness of the severe shortage of donors of Black heritage in the United Kingdom on the stem cell (bone marrow), blood, and organ donor registers.
Nicole loved keeping fit, music and reading, but it is harder for her to enjoy the things she loves since her diagnosis.
Rhiannon has mixed black and white heritage and is in need of a kidney donor. She is a passionate artist, gamer, and advocate.
John is of Jamaican heritage, making it harder for him to find a match. We appeal especially to those who share his heritage.

Obi found his kidney match, but they were unable to come to the UK to perform the surgery. We are still looking for his match.
