Meet the team...
ACLT Co-Founder
Beverley’s role is to ensure ACLT runs smoothly. She manages the staff alongside Orin. Beverley supports patients and their loved ones when confronted with a diagnosis of any blood cancers/blood disorders and anyone in urgent need of a stem cell match, blood donations and kidney transplants. A large part of Bev and Orin’s work involves them having the ability to project manage and to multi-task in all areas of charity i.e., fundraising, awareness, Donor Registrations, working with our Stakeholder partners, PR, Marketing, Projects and Event Management, Strategising, Administration, Branding and so on. In her spare time Beverley likes to eat out and socialise with friends and family. She enjoys relaxing with Orin, her daughter Dominique and Orin’s 2 son’s Lutalo and Jelani. Bev loves listening to music, reading, running & gym workouts, travelling around the world with Orin, enjoying quality time together whilst learning histories and other cultures.
ACLT Co-Founder
Orin’s main purpose is to develop the strategy and principles of the ACLT. He also manages the staff alongside Beverley, planning effective use of resources. Moreover, Orin delivers operative programs and services within budget and to quality standards. When Orin has spare time he loves listening to music, watching sports, supporting his team Chelsea FC, and relaxing. He loves to travel around the world in his spare time with Beverley as it helps them unwind.
Administration & Finance Officer
Verna has been an avid supporter of the ACLT and a key part of the ACLT volunteer team since the charity was founded in 1996. She joined the team after seeing the Daniel De-Gale appeal on the BBC2 “Black Britain” pilot program whilst working at BBC Worldwide Ltd. After retiring from her role as Accounts Receivable Manager at BBC Worldwide in October 2008, Verna volunteered in the ACLT office for a couple of years before taking on a paid part-time Admin role. Verna took time out to support her mother during a period of ill health in 2012 as well as enjoying her first grandchild. Verna is pleased to be back in the ACLT office, ensuring our Administration and Finances are all in good order as well as assisting Bev and Orin in continuing the work of helping to raise awareness, registering new donors and supporting the patients and families that need assistance from the ACLT charity. Verna’s hobbies include fitness workouts, reading, doing puzzles and travel.
Head of Marketing & Partnerships
Jade completed a Fashion Marketing degree and went on to work in marketing in industries such as events, healthcare, recruitment, food, and non-profit organisations. Her main focus within her roles has been the development of websites and the perfection of branding for smaller independent businesses and she hopes to follow this through for ACLT. In her spare time, she loves getting creative and can be found listening to music while taking on a new creative project.
Marketing & Social Content Executive
I have a degree in advertising, PR, and branding, which is where I found my passion for brand strategy and content creation. I love staying organised, planning things out, and always try to keep a visionary outlook on life. I’m motivated by progress and enjoy working towards goals that make a difference. In my free time, I like being creative, planning small events, traveling, and trying new things. I’m excited to help ACLT reach more people so they can keep changing perspectives, advocating for people and encouraging others to join the stem cell (bone marrow) and organ and blood donation registries.
Social Media Executive
Nikita holds a First-Class degree in English with Creative writing. While she adores all things literature, her true passion lies in creativity. In her free time, Nikita enjoys making people laugh. She regularly creates online skits and has recently embarked on stand-up comedy. She is grateful to be working with ACLT and is eager to help shift the perspectives of the younger generation, finding innovative ways to encourage them to donate.
