#DearJohn
In a race against time, Birmingham resident John, facing a rare Sezary Syndrome diagnosis, is on a quest to meet his grandchild. We hear from his twin brother Philip who is reaching out to the public to urge them to register to donate and potentially save a life. Gathering around as a community to register, can not only help someone like John – but it could save you one day.
You can join the Anthony Nolan register if you are between the ages 16 to 30 or the DKMS register if you are between the ages 17 to 55 with a simple cheek swab. Join today and give the gift of life.

John’s family, who fear this might be his last year.
The potential for creating more cherished memories lies in a stem cell transplant, but the challenge is formidable. The clock is ticking, and John urgently needs to find his match. Join the movement by sharing this post, and together, let’s spread the word to give John the hope he deserves.
Shockingly, patients from ethnic minority backgrounds face daunting odds, with only 37% chance of finding a stem cell match, compared to 72% for white Europeans. Jenny shares,
“John is of Jamaican heritage, making it much harder for him to find a match. We appeal especially to those who share his heritage to get registered.
Jenny extends the call for support beyond John, stating, “Even if we can’t save John, there are countless others worldwide waiting for a transplant. This Christmas, consider the gift of registering as a stem cell donor. It’s a small action that could possibly save the life of someone battling blood cancer.”
If you’re aged 17-55 and in good health, you could be the hero John needs. The call echoes: be a hero in your community! Join the register now, increasing the likelihood of being a match for someone from a similar ethnic background.
