This March the Hertfordshire County Council BAME staff network will be launching an exciting campaign, ‘100 new blood donors, in 100 days. The campaign has been launched to encourage family and friends of the BAME staff network, to do something amazing by booking an appointment to donate blood.
Only 1% (11,400) of Black African, Caribbean, and mixed-race people in the UK donate blood, yet many from these communities rely on regular blood donations as treatment for blood disorders such as sickle cell.
I am proud to support the BAME network in their efforts to raise awareness on the lack of regular blood donors from ethnic minorities.
Carol Young is our contact at HCC Bame Staff Network she had met Kadifa Jones, our ambassador and became aware of ACLT.
